House Approves Bill Declaring Obama’s Immigration Order ‘Null And Void’

President Obama, left, issued an executive order on immigration following the 2014 midterm elections.

House Republicans voted on a bill Thursday declaring President Obama’s executive action on immigration “null and void and without legal effect.” However, the vote was largely a symbolic step before a potential budget stand-off next week.

The House voted 219-197 for the bill sponsored by Florida Republican Rep. Ted Yoho, as part of a three-step plan by House GOP leaders to address Obama’s unconstitutional immigration actions and approve a new spending bill to avert a partial government shutdown.

The people’s chamber will vote next week on a bill funding most of the government through fiscal 2015, as well as the Department of Homeland Security through early next year. However, because President Obama said he will veto a bill that funds the government but not his executive decree, the threat of a government shutdown is possible.

While many lawmakers want to fight this fight ahead of the Dec. 11 deadline, which is when current government funding expires, some Republicans worry Yoho’s legislation was not passed at the proper time and certainly has zero chance of passing the Senate.

“I’m not happy,” said South Carolina Republican Rep. Mick Mulvaney. However, he said he is concerned that if Republicans don’t fight the immigration policy now, it could send the wrong signal ahead of the new Congress.

At a press conference earlier Thursday, Boehner urged his rank-and-file to be patient, making the case for delaying the immigration fight until next year.

“Come January, we’ll have a Republican House and Republican Senate, and we’ll be in a stronger position to take actions,” he said.

Boehner said the current plan is “the most practical way to fight the president’s action.”

  • HOW
CAN WE TRUST EITHER POLITICAL PARTY, WHEN THE PROMISES OF A SECURE BORDER,
EMPLOYER VIOLATIONS OR REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL ALIENS REMAINS UNFOREFILLED?

    Millions
of illegal aliens are walking free, being given food, clothing, housing—even
education and health care out of your tax dollars. Their children real and
non-existent collecting child care credits over $4.7 billion annually. Over the
years, especially since 1986 none of the promises from the top have ever
prevailed—neither the hard left Democrats or the GOP establishment—exempt the
TEA PARTY, who are the toughest representatives of keeping American sovereignty
and firmly steadfast on the requirements of the US Constitution.

    THE FENCE MUST BE FULLY
CONSTRUCTED BEFORE ANY CHANCE OF IMMIGRATION REFORM; OTHERWISE FLOODS OF
    ILLEGAL ALIENS WILL KEEP COMING.

Obama did what he said he would do—completely bypassed our lawmaking system,
ignored Congress and went straight for the jugular on illegal immigration. For
decades now the Republican Party has also gave us lip service on illegal
immigration, hoping that the people would get distracted for the key issue of
building a strong border fence. Begin by duplicating the fencing in San Diego, California and stretching it all
the way to Brownsville, TX, the Gulf of Mexico. Talking of Texas the Governor Rick Perry
has proclaimed he will build his own fence, because of the intentional failure
of both parties, who are ham-strung owing to their campaign donors who are
against any obstacle that would impede their cheap labor, specifically true of
agriculture. OBAMAS Agencies continue to warp the truth about deportations,
when they add huge numbers of people detained at the border and quickly
returned a short distance from the exit port.

And our nation has been left hemorrhaging. AMERICA IS IN THE RED FOR $18
    TRILLION.

Obama has granted this amnesty at any cost and done it as fast and big—and that
is what he did. You don't have to sit back and feel helpless. You CAN help stop
    this madness.

Do not resign yourself that this Executive Order is a done deal.
It is FAR from a done deal?

    All Congress has to do
when they come into session in January and is immediately change the statute
the executive order is based on.

    What Obama did is NOT
Constitutional, but that is great news because...?

With this executive order not being based on the Constitution Congress can
change it with a statute. But WE have to force their hand—it us up to us
    soldiers of freedom.
