Who Can Argue There’s No Abortion Industry When Clinic Sends Coupons?

abortion industry

I will ask the simple question again. Who can argue that there is no abortion industry when a Gosnell-like clinic sends coupons that “save $50.00” with “free deep IV sedation” for “Sundays Only” redemption.

The abortion center, which is open seven days a week for business in my state of Florida, is giving away coupons to poor women in a crisis pregnancy so they can save money on their abortions.

Florida Right to Life conducted an investigation on this “open on Sundays” abortion center and subsequently learned that one of the doctors at this location is none other than the notorious Dr. James Scott Pendergraft.

If the name sounds familiar, it is because Life News has taken to call him Florida’s Dr. Gosnell, and he is the same so-called doctor who lost his medical license an outrageous five times in Florida.

In 2011, he was hit with a judgment of $36,737,660.16 in damages after he botched a 20-week abortion that resulted in a baby who survived his abortion procedure, however, was severely damaged physically. Putting this story in political context, had the patient and baby (which are one-in-the same) been protected by legislation, such as the Texas or Wisconsin ban, then that would never have happened. The House of Representatives moved to pass similar legislation after science has provided evidence that babies feel pain during that period of gestation.

The conditions at his abortion center, like Gosnell’s in Philadelphia, have been described as “third-world” and it routinely does not counsel women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy. From Life News:

When an abortion clinic can be so bold to offer coupons to vulnerable women, something is terribly wrong! Unfortunately, Pendergraft is not alone. He also operates in five abortion centers throughout Florida.

I have repeatedly posted articles and statistics in an attempt to debunk the false narrative that teenagers with militant parents who find themselves with accidental pregnancies are the ones who are driving the high abortion numbers.  That old picture is simply untrue, and as Americans have learned more about the realities of the abortion industry, such as the fact that groups encourage it to be used for contraception due to how much they profit, support for abortion (especially late-term abortion) has continuously decreased.

A driving force behind the reversal in public opinion has been the younger generation who have decidedly shifted to the Pro-Life side of the argument. Naturally, we are seeing that the politics are following in short order.

Just last week, lawmakers announced that the government watchdog GAO, otherwise known as the Government Accountability Office has opened an investigation into one such group – Planned Parenthood.
