Producer Price Index (PP) Rises More than Forecast

The Producer Price Index (PPI) reported by the Labor Department Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Labor Department reported the Producer Price Index (PPI) shows inflation at the wholesale level rose 0.5% in June, coming in higher than the estimate for a rise of 0.3%. The so-called core PPI, which includes all other prices excluding the volatile food and energy components, rose 0.4%.

That topped the median economic forecast that called for an increase of 0.1%.
