Happy Father’s Day: Obligation to Family is the Heart of Political Prosperity

Happy Father’s Day! Obligation to Family is the heart of political prosperity, and the foundation to any strong society.

While we pay lip service to these words all of the time, we do not hear or see them defended in academia or in popular culture. The new book, “Our Virtuous Republic,” is a vociferous and comprehensive defense of American traditionalism, and a call for a return to civil society.

How and why is the family the foundation of society? What are the mechanisms that hold this “pillar and foundation” together?

Baris uses psychology, logic, economics, history and science, to deconstruct the progressive argument to its regressive core. Breaking through the superficial, he explains how our human nature interacts with the different elements of each political philosophy in American politics. The evidence, in total, points to one conclusion.

There is a Natural Law that illuminates the path to human happiness and well-being. Our Founding Fathers designed the American social contract in accordance with Natural Law to ensure that we would all have the opportunity to achieve the highest state of being. Honoring the terms of that social contract is the true path to progress.

Benjamin Franklin said:

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.

By the time you are finished reading this book, I hope you will have asked yourself a few questions: Do I believe that we – humankind – can be something more than corrupt and vicious, or at least do I want to believe that to be possible? I Founding Fathers most certainly did. What kind of person do I want to be, and what kind of people do I want my children to be? Is the answer corrupt and vicious, or can we once again become a virtuous republic?
