Lara Trump reacted to Omarosa Manigault-Newman releasing a secret recording of a conversation that took place in 2017. The tape, which was released on Thursday, is one of several in which Lara Trump discussed a potential position on the Trump Campaign in 2020.

While her full statement is below, Mrs. Trump said that she was “absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level.”

“Another one of Omarosa’s ‘bombshell’ tapes is a fraud,” she said in an emailed statement.

Manigault-Newman, who is trying to sell copies of her new and already-much debunked book, previously released audio of White House Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly and her discussing her departure from the administration.

Gen. Kelly had reportedly learned of various violations of ethnics and integrity rules, though Omarosa has a well-documented reputation as a backstabber.

“When Omarosa was fired by the White House Chief of Staff in December of 2017, my entire family was concerned for her because we had no idea about the basis of her dismissal,” Mrs. Trump added. “We still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally. That’s why I reached out to offer her a position with the 2020 Trump Campaign before we knew anything about the gross violations of ethics and integrity during her White House tenure.”

CNN’s April Ryan also considered Omarosa a friend at one point. That is, before she “turned” on her. Ryan was on “The Karen Hunter Show” to promote her own book when she was asked about Manigault-Newman.

“I talk about her taping me. I warned everybody. I talk about her taping me. We had that fight between the Oval Office and the press office,” she said. “It probably stemmed from the fact that she was very upset with me because I …wouldn’t be in her wedding and people were telling me she was very upset that I chose not to be in her wedding.”

Interestingly, she also said that Omarosa “turned” on her in order to help President Trump go after the media.

“She stabbed in the back, the neck, the eyeballs and in the front,” Ryan told Hunter. “She tried to cut my head off and put it on a platter and serve it up to Donald Trump.”

The media had hoped that there would be a greater focus on the alleged tape of President Trump using an insensitive racial slur during his days on The Apprentice. She told NPR that she personally heard the long-rumored but never surfaced tape, contradicting the claims in her own book.

However, sources in her book have publicly called her a liar for making the claims she did make in the book. and noted that she never even bothered to confirm that information before running to print.

For example, Omarosa claimed to have heard from someone who heard from GOP pollster Frank Luntz that he heard Trump use the N-word.

“Not only is this flat-out false (I’ve never heard such a thing), but Omarosa didn’t even make an effort to call or email me to verify,” Mr. Luntz tweeted after reading page 149. “Very shoddy work.”

In response to statements made by Omarosa Manigault-Newman regarding her book, “Unhinged,” Lara Trump issued the following statement.

From the beginning of my father-in-law’s campaign, Omarosa was welcomed into our family as a trusted friend and confidant. On the Women for Trump tour, including Omarosa, we formed a sisterhood bond that is unlike any I have experienced in my life. We toured together, laughed together, and worked really hard towards a common goal. We never would have imagined that one of our own was secretly recording all of our private conversations.

When Omarosa was fired by the White House Chief of Staff in December of 2017, my entire family was concerned for her because we had no idea about the basis of her dismissal. We still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally. That’s why I reached out to offer her a position with the 2020 Trump Campaign before we knew anything about the gross violations of ethics and integrity during her White House tenure. Another one of Omarosa’s ‘bombshell’ tapes is a fraud. The discussions about a position with the campaign took place in numerous phone calls over the course of several weeks.

Woman to woman, I shared a connection with Omarosa as a friend and a campaign sister, and I am absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level.

I hope it’s all worth it for you, Omarosa, because some things you just can’t put a price on.
